Now this is something I sort of promised to do a long while ago, but didn't somehow manage to do it.. A bit of personal weapon design for the Viking-berserker-valkyrie Verwildert. I had thought I'd finish it up for her birthday, but then I missed that too.. But well, here it is finally -- just about a month late. Hope you like it, Lissu.

I have drawn dozens of axe design sketches when i've been working on Gothmog's axe for my WIP illustration of his battle with Fingon.. I have yet to create a design that is is simple, brutal and evil enough for my liking.. but this was a byproduct of this sketching process, a double-sided variant of one of the more elaborate designs i came up with. The axe seemed a bit lonely there in the middle of the paper, so i drew a black gauntlet and helm to keep it company.. I know they are not exactly as brutal and barbaric as she would probably prefer them to be.. but then again, armour is something that only gets in the way when berserking -- so these are just meant to be worn at public appearances.. The Dominator of the World needs to make those too, after all, to properly intimidate the masses, right?
